Needles: 2.75mm dpn needles
Notions: Stitch markers, and a few threads for holding finger stitches while you continue with the main hand body. An extra set of dp needles
makes knitting the fingers easier. Short dpm needles preferred for
knitting the fingers.
Gauge: 30 sts and 42 rows = 10cm / 4" over stocking stitch
Sizes: These are sized to fit an average woman’s hand, measuring
19cm/17.25" around widest part of the hand, excluding the thumb.
Notes: To emphasize the lace cuff you can go up a size or two to 3.25mm. The cuff can also be made longer (more chart repeats). The fingers can be knit 3-5 rows longer if you have long, elegant hands. Try them on as you go! And, you can add a little length in the hand by a few rows, after the thumb stitches are put on a holder. Please make sure you have enough yarn before making any size adjustments.

In the wild spaces of Nova Scotia, the atmosphere hangs with magic and imagination. Stories of the supernatural harken from the ancient oral history of Mi’kmaq people and from Gaelic settlers who brought their belief in fairies, wee-folk and spirits that they called Na Sithichean. In both cultures, these supernatural beings caused much mischief!
Wear these fingerless gloves on your next adventure into a wild space where you might encounter a wee-folk or two.
