Field of Flowers
Designed for dk, fingering and lace weight yarns, use all one or multiple colors.
Yarn and Needles:
DK weight throw or shawl: 2080 yds (1901 m) DK weight yarn
Size US 9 (5.5 mm), 29" (or longer) circular needles.
Double pointed needles in the same size, and a size I crochet hook.
Fingering/Lace weight shawl: 1200 yds if worked on US 5 (3.75 mm) needles, 1500 yds if worked on a US 6 (4.0 mm) needles.
US 5 (3.75 mm) or 6 (4.0 mm), 24" (or longer) circular needles.
Double pointed needles in the same size and a size F crochet hook.
Other Supplies: A spare 29” circular needle at least 2 sizes smaller; 4 st makers; 8 yards of smooth waste yarn in a constrasting color; tapestry needle; rustproof pins; blocking wires (optional).
Unblocked Gauge:
DK: 3.5 sts = 1” in garter stitch on US 9 needles.
Fingering/Lace wt: 5 sts = 1” on size 5 needles, or 4.5 sts = 1” on size 6 needles, in garter stitch.
